By Rail
During the day there are trains from London on the east coast route via York, Newcastle and Edinburgh, stopping at Kingussie, just three miles away. There are also regular ScotRail services from both Glasgow and Edinburgh also stopping at Newtonmore station and Kingussie station.
The overnight sleeper service from London, Crewe, Preston and Carlisle stops at Newtonmore Station.
By Bus
Citylink Coach services from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Inverness also stop in Newtonmore.
By Car
From The South
Follow the A9 from Perth for 60 miles. You will pass the junction for the village of Dalwhinnie & its Distillery on your left. Stay on the A9 and pick up the signs for Newtonmore, a further 12 miles North. Take the Newtonmore cut off and continue for 1 mile into the village. Continue through the village passing the petrol station on your left followed by the Glen Hotel on the right, adjacent to the A86 junction for Laggan. Immediately after the Post Office (on your left) take the right turn signed for the Golf Course and Alvey House. Follow this road round to the right, taking care when crossing the 18th fairway. Continue round to the right passed the club house and Alvey House is 100 yards directly in front of you.
From The North
Follow the A9 South from Inverness/Aviemore, take the cut off for Kingussie/Newtonmore. Continue straight through Kingussie and 3 miles further to Newtonmore. After the coop on your right you will pass the Newtonmore Primary School on your left, turn sharp left here, signed for Golf Course. Follow this road round to the right, taking care crossing the 18th fairway. Pass the club house and follow the road round to the right. Alvey House is 100 yards in front of you.
From the West - Fort William
Take the picturesque A86 from Spean Bridge to Newtonmore. At the junction across from the Glen Hotel in Newtonmore turn left and immediately after the Post Office (on your left) take the right turn signed for the Golf Course and Alvey House. Follow this road round to the right, taking care when crossing the 18th fairway. Continue round to the right passed the club house and Alvey House is 100 yards directly in front of you.
